Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines:

  1. Manuscript Size: Manuscripts should be prepared in A4 size format.
  2. Structure: Follow the standard structure of scientific articles, including Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
  3. Word Limit: The manuscript should be concise and informative, typically ranging from 2500 to 6000 words, excluding references and tables.
  4. Tables and Figures: Tables and figures must be included within the manuscript and numbered consecutively. Ensure that figures and tables are clear, relevant, and properly labeled.

Text Formatting:

  1. Font: Use a clear, professional font Times Roman
  2. Font Size: The main text should be in 12-point font size. Headings in 14-point for clarity.
  3. Line Spacing: Maintain a 1.5 line spacing throughout the manuscript for better readability.
  4. Title: Title should be brief, descriptive, and centered on the page.

 References:

  1. Citation Style: Follow AMA style guidelines for citations and references.
  2. In-text Citations: Use numerical superscript for in-text citations that correspond to numbered references in the bibliography.
  3. Reference List: Include a separate reference list at the end of the manuscript, listed numerically in the order of appearance in the text.

 Submission and Publication Fees:

  1. Fee Exemption: Authors are exempt from any submission or publication fees. There are no charges for processing, reviewing, or publishing manuscripts.
  2. Payment Policy: The Luxembourg Journal of Medical Sciences does not require any payments from authors at any stage of the publication process.

Authors are encouraged to carefully adhere to these guidelines to increase the likelihood of successful publication in the Luxembourg Journal of Medical Sciences.
